Mass Ave welcomes a larger-than-life image of Indy’s treasured son, author Kurt Vonnegut, to the 300 block. Artist Pamela Bliss, also an Indianapolis native, has created a charming 3-story mural of Vonnegut on the north facade of the Massala Building at 345 Mass Ave. Bliss was commissioned by the Arts Council of Indianapolis as part of their 46 for XLVI, Murals Program for the City of Indianapolis. More information about this and 45 other murals in the city-wide project can be found at artscouncilofindianapolis.org/murals.

We’re excited to announce that we have a new neighbor joining us this month. The Sweet Tooth Bakery, specializing in custom wedding cakes and cupcakes and cakes for all your special occasions, will open on Thursday, May 5th at 610 Mass Ave. We’re guessing they’ll be great neighbors, because they’re celebrating their first day on the block with $1 cupcakes between noon and 6pm. Good thing there’s a YMCA down the street, something tells me we’ll need to hit the treadmill soon.
