Beer Book = Travel Guide Book of the Year
The IHS Press book “Indiana: One Pint at a Time,” written by Doug Wissing, won the gold medal in the travel guide category of ForeWord Magazine’s 2010 Book of the Year Awards. The awards were announced at a ceremony during the American Library Association Conference in New Orleans. 215 Book of the Year Award winners in 60 categories were honored. These books, representing the best independently published books from 2010 were selected by a panel of librarian and bookseller judges. Kudos to designers Pat Prather, Mike Schwab, and photographer Dick Spahr.

Black Market Debuts on Mass Ave

Fear No Beer
It’s that time again. Join our friends at the Phoenix Theatre for the 16th annual Brew-Ha-Ha on Saturday, June 25 from 3 to 7pm. Dean Johnson and the Indiana Historical Society teamed up with Bloomington, Indiana author Douglas Wissing and photographer Dick Spahr to produce a travel guide to the more than thirty craft breweries around the state—Indiana: One Pint at a Time, A Traveler’s Guide to Indiana Breweries. Sample Indiana craft beers and swap stories with the author and other beer enthusiasts during the Spirit and Place Festival on Tuesday, November 9, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
